This is Yazid’s story. A young man from Gaza who lost too much.

Yazid is a 19 year old young man. He had a normal life in Al Shuyaja in Gaza living with his mother, father and siblings; his sister of 18 years old and his brothers Ahmed and Mohammed of 12 and 11 years old.

But the 7th of October was the beginning of tremendous loss for this family. After losing their house, they were displaced several times until they set camp in Deir Al Balah tent encampent. But fate struck again.; Yazid’s family lost their beloved father and cousin. After this Yazid also lost his best friend and his aunt. And at the 29th of November he lost the person who loved him the most; his grandmother.

After losing so many Yazid is desperately looking for ways to protect the remaining family members. His younger brother Ahmed is suffering from epilepsy and is weak. He needs medicine Yazid can’t buy.

On top of this the family is in need of almost every basic need in life. Food, water, gas or wood to cook, blankets, clothes and hygiene products. Yazid is very anxious to lose another loved one.

Yazid didn’t get any help from the outside world until now and it’s because of his good friend Walid who also lives in Deir Al Balah that I came in contact with this kind and sweet young man.

I decided to create this campaign to try and get the support Yazid needs. It means the world to him.

The funds that will be raised will be spent on the above mentioned needs:

Your donation will be transferred to the bank account of team member Fatima from Australia. She will transfer the funds to Yazid’s bank account, at the Bank of Palestine. Yazid will withdraw the money by changing the digital money for cash money with merchants.

We want to share an important update about our dear friend Yazid, a 19-year-old living in Gaza. Recently, his phone was stolen, and as many of you know, this phone was his only lifeline—his only way to stay in touch with us and the world outside Gaza.

Right now, Yazid is borrowing phones from different people just to send short updates and try to reach out. This is also how he receives your donations, which are essential for his daily survival.

In Gaza, a phone is not a luxury—it’s a basic necessity. It’s his only way to access support, communicate safely, and stay informed. Without it, he is isolated and vulnerable.

We are urgently raising funds to help Yazid buy a new phone. If you are able to contribute, even a small amount, it would make a real difference.

Now Yazid is doing everything he can to protect what’s left of his family. His younger brother Ahmed suffers from epilepsy and urgently needs medication. But Yazid can’t find it—and even if he could, he wouldn’t be able to afford it. The blockade and ongoing siege have made essential medicines nearly impossible to obtain.

What Yazid has witnessed recently will stay with him forever. He’s seen martyrs lying in the streets, civilians so desperate with hunger that they’ve taken cookies from each other’s pockets. The famine is growing worse by the day, and survival itself is becoming more difficult. Hunger gnaws not just at the stomach, but at hope.

Yazid is afraid—not just of the bombs, not just of losing more loved ones—but of being forgotten. He fears that the world has moved on, while he is left behind, struggling to keep his family alive in a place where almost nothing is left.
